chapter 7

A big topic on chapter 7 is Database. I was interested to learn that I was actually using a database right now.
My work just recently got together with a database company for redesigning their website
For our deliverable we are going to use one of our favorite characters and trace them on ink scape. I am going to do tweety bird. Tweety was definitely my favorite character growing up.

I have done this before so it lookes like it wll be a lot of fun I think to craft it.

Chapter 6

Chapter six talks about digital media which there is a lot of now in our world. Some of the most popular ones trending are instagram and snapchat.
With the Iphone you combine all sorts of digitial media with music, photos, social media and more.

A big thing on itunes are the podcasts where you can have different shows and people can listen to them,. College of Charleston has a podcast with head basketball Coach Wojick.
Most people in our generation use Itunes where they collect their songs. It costs quite a bit for a song these days but people can get around buying songs by visiting some websites.

Test Day/Variable 5

First off everyone visit my google site
https://sites.google.com/a/g.cofc.edu/kolich-version-1-0/home

You will get to see a slideshow with some of my favorite pictures from my trip to England in May.

During Chapter 5 we learned a lot about networks and modems. I have had troubles with my linksy modem

It looks exactly like this one above. I had a guest service on it but found out how to get rid of it and I decided to put FBI Van as the name so people would shy away. We also learned about cellular networks and I have had a friend who I do not get any service in her house but everyone else does. It is definitely a pain. Bluetooth is another thing we learned in class on Thursday.

Presentation Day

Today in class we gave presentations about different software that we don't know much about or don't use that often. I did mine on Final Cut Pro because as a college student I knew nothing about it until I got introduced to it in my classes and they things it can do for editing is incredible. It really makes an amazing flowing project and we use it daily in the athletic department any time we are editing film.

The presentations I found most interesting was the Opentable and the CofC mobile app. I immediately downloaded the cofc mobile app and will look into the open table app. I don't eat out much but I think I will find it to be very useful.

The First Day

Welcome to the first day of Computer Fluency!

Today we went through the basics of computers. The whole entire time during this lesson I kept thinking that if my father were in this class today he would not know a single word of what our teacher was talking about. My dad just recently discovered youtube about a year ago but more importantly over Christmas break he recently discovered that it is possible to still obtain youtube and high sound quality as he took the laptop outside to smoke his cigar.

We also watched a link about an incredibly smart computer on Jeopardy. I can't wait to show my grandma this video because she will be amazed. We once tricked my grandma because Jeopardy airs 30 minutes in the south before it does in the midwest, so my uncle knew all the answers because my aunt texted them to him. My Grandma was convinced he was so smart and he told her if was because of omega-3 pills he was taking so she went to sam's club the next day and bought a big tub of them.

I wonder today how many older generation people know how to operate a computer? It would be an interesting statistic to discover.

Here's the link to the jeopardy computer!
